Heart Attack

HEART ATTACK

Heart Attack occurs due to the blockage in the flow of blood to the heart. This blockage is usually in the form of Fats, Cholesterol, and other substances!!

The good news is that we can prevent a heart attack if we pay attention to the silent symptoms:

a.  Chest pain, pressure, or fullness in the chest

b. Difficulty in breathing or dizziness

c.  Nausea and cold sweat

d. Pain or discomfort in jaw, neck, arm(s) especially left or back

e.  Fatigue

f.   Fast or uneven heartbeat

Types of Heart Attacks:

·        ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Here, due to complete blockage of the coronary artery, a large portion of muscle stops receiving blood.

·        Non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Here, the coronary artery is partially blocked.

·        In Unstable Angina or Coronary spasm, Blood flow stops completely or is drastically reduced due to the tightening of the arteries.

A Major Heart is caused by the damage caused by STEMI and NSTEMI!!!

Common Factors that Lead to Heart Attack:

1.     Cholesterol

2.     Drinking

3.     Smoking

4.     Diabetes

5.     High blood pressure

6.     Obesity

7.     Lack of Exercise
